Self-esteem and satisfaction with social relationships across time.

Research on the longitudinal association between self-esteem and satisfaction with social relationships has led to ambiguous conclusions regarding temporal order strength of this relation. Existing studies have examined across intervals ranging from days years, leaving it unclear as what extent differences in timing may explain studies. In present study, we used continuous time structural equation models (i.e., CT-SEM) examine cross-lagged relations constructs, also distinguished between-person within-person processes RI-CT-SEM). We analyzed 10 years annual data Longitudinal Internet Studies Social Sciences (N = 14,741). When using CT-SEM, found a bidirectional positive relation relationships, larger effects over longer intervals.
